Visit of INS Suvarna and INS Tarkash to Madagascar 

A 5-member Indian Navy Mobile Training Team (INMTT) arrived in Port Diego Suarez, Antsiranana, Madagascar aboard Indian Naval Ship (INS) Suvarna on 9 October 2022 to impart training to Malagasy Special Forces from 10-23 October 2022. During this period, INMTT also conducted joint training with Malagasy Armed Forces in Asymmetric Warfare, Maritime Interdiction Operations, Close Quarter Battle and Demolition Training. 


INS Tarkash made a port call at Port Diego Suarez, Antsiranana, Madagascar from 22-24 October 2022. During the port call, the Commanding Officer of INS Tarkash called on various senior government and military functionaries of Madagascar. During the ship visit, capability building activities on countering Asymmetric Threat, Communication drills, Medical lectures, VBSS (visit, board, search, and seizure) and Cross deck visits were also undertaken. Sport activities like Yoga and Volley Ball matches were also organised as part of the ship visit. INMTT left for India on 24 October 2022 aboard INS Tarkash on completion of the training programme.
