SPECIAL SESSION ORGANIZED IN ANTANANARIVO ON 15 DECEMBER 2025 FOR PROMOTION OF TRADE & TOURISM

A special session on promotion of bilateral trade and tourism was organized in Antananarivo on Monday, 15 December 2025, along with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Madagascar and leading entrepreneurs and members from the Indian and Malagasy business community. The event also witnessed participation from major Indian companies with operations in Madagascar including Airtel, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd., Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Ramtana Minerals, Satguru Travels and also two Indian Universities, namely, Parul University and Sharda University.

The session was co-attended by Ms. Fidinarivo Miora Esther, Counsellor, FCCIM, Antananarivo along with other members of the Federation and representatives from the local chambers of commerce. In her opening address, Mrs. Alka Sarkar, Charge d’ Affaires highlighted the ongoing transformation of the Indian economy and its landmark achievements in the recent years under the visionary leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister. Charge d’ Affaires also emphasized the strong bilateral linkages between India and Madagascar as a key partner in the Indian Ocean Region, and growing volume of bilateral trade and commerce in the recent years. Ms. Fidinarivo Miora Esther, Counsellor, FCCIM congratulated the Embassy of India in Antananarivo for its continued organization of such initiatives aimed at facilitating, promoting and increasing bilateral trade between the two countries, and underlined the particular requirement of special emphasis be placed on new business opportunities in the emerging sectors, especially in the areas of tourism and technology.

In another segment dedicated for presentations by Indian companies having operations in Madagascar, the speakers showcased their accomplishments in different emerging sectors, and their individual roadmap ahead.

The session concluded with mutual appreciation from both the local business communities, FCCIM and the local Chambers of Commerce.
