About Us ICCR Scholarships

OFFER OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN INDIA UNDER ICCR SCHOLARSHIPS SCHEME- 2021-2022

 The Government of India offer scholarships for Malagasy and Comorian students respectively through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under Africa Scholarship Scheme to follow Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M. Phil. /Ph.D. course in various Indian Universities/Institutes.

The scholarships is given for various courses: Agriculture, Commerce and Management, Engineering, Law, Applied course (Journalism and Communication, Tourism Management, Pharmacy, Computer Application, etc…)

THE FACILITIES:

  • Other compulsory fees (OCF)
  • Hostel fees
  • Return economy class airfares
  • Medical facility

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Candidates must achieve adequate level of English Proficiency as medium of instruction in India is English.
  • Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age for undergraduate and postgraduate courses and should not exceed 45 years of age for Ph.D. courses.
  • Candidates must be fully fit to be able to stay and complete his/her course in India and should not be suffering with any life threatening ailment.
  • Candidates must possess all required supporting documents.

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Before applying, candidates are requested to go through the ‘Guidelines’ available at ICCR portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/.
  • Eligible candidates may apply online at ICCR portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/
  • Submission of documents and application is acceptable only through ICCR portal.
  • A hard copy of the complete application should be thereafter submitted to the Embassy latest by 7 June 2021.

  • Diploma and mark sheet :

For undergraduate courses:

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 10

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 12,

- Baccalaureate diploma and Mark/Grade card

- GMAT score for Commerce and Management courses

All with English translation attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Madagascar.

For postgraduate courses:

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 10

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 12

- Baccalaureate diploma and Mark/Grade card

- Bachelor diploma ; Undergraduate mark sheet and transcript (1st year to 3rd year at university)

- GMAT score for Commerce and Management course

All with English translation attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Madagascar.

For doctorate/Ph.D. courses:

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 10

- Mark/Grade card of Grade 12,

- Baccalaureate Diploma and Mark/Grade card

- Bachelor diploma ; undergraduate mark sheet and transcript (1st year to 3rd year at university)

- Master diploma ; postgraduate mark sheet and transcript (4th year and 5th year at university)

- GMAT score for Commerce and Management course

- Synopsis details

All with English translation attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Madagascar

  • A certificate of physical fitness dully filled by a sworn Doctor (Physical fitness format to be downloaded on ICCR portal).
  • Certified copy of passport/identity card.
  • Recommendation letters/character certificates from existing school/university etc.T
  • TOEFEL/IELTS and other standardized test scores, if available.
  • Synopsis details in case of Ph.D. candidates.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • Online application should be complete in all respects, with all the required information and all necessary supporting documents. Any incomplete application will not be processed for admission.
  • More than one application of one candidate on ICCR portal will disqualify application.
  • The application will not be considered without English translation of documents if the original documents are not in English.
  • An online interview will be conducted by universities/institutes to determinate proficiency in English.
  • Students should submit a 500-word essay in English to ascertain English proficiency while applying online.
  • Students are advised to visit university/institute website and do through research of course offered and eligibility criteria before applying for admission. Students should ensure that they are eligible for the course and should submit relevant documentation as required by the University in addition to the basic certificate mentioned in the application form.
  • Selected students are advised to carry some money to meet incidental expenses on arrival to India. A minimum of INR 50,000/- is recommended.
  • Compulsory Personal Medical Insurance is mandatory for availing ICCR scholarships. Selected students should procure Medical Insurance policy with minimum sum assured for $6800 per annum at their own cost, from any insurance company, either before travel, from insurance company valid in India from their country or on their arrival in India.
  • Expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges for students pursuing science and agriculture courses will have to be borne by the students themselves.
  • In case of engineering courses, students must have Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in their school leaving examinations.
  • ICCR does not offer scholarships for MBBS/BDS courses.
