Celebrations of "World Hindi Day-2026" on 12 January 2026

The Embassy of India in Antananarivo organized the celebrations of “World Hindi Day 2026” on 12 January 2025. The occasion was graced by the presence of Malagasy Hindi students, members of the Indian diaspora and the friends of India.

2. Charge d’Affaires Mr. Kiran Chander extended warm greetings to the guests and read out the message of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who emphasized that Hindi is not merely a language but a powerful medium that conveys India’s emotions and values to the world. Hon’ble Prime Minister noted that the members of Indian diaspora are true ambassadors of the nation and extended appreciation to all individuals and institutions contributing to the promotion of Hindi. In his speech, Cd’A emphasized Hindi’s increasing usage in the digital world, citing platforms like YouTube, Google and Facebook and expressed delight at the eagerness of Malagasy citizens to learn Hindi through Embassy-run classes. He encouraged everyone to benefit from the Hindi literature and free Hindi classes being held at the Embassy. He concluded his speech, by urging everyone to contribute to the promotion of Hindi language, particularly among youth.

3. The event featured vibrant Indian dance and song performances along with heartfelt recitations of Hindi poems by the participants. A special Hindi exhibition was also showcased during the event. Charge d’Affaires felicitated the participants by presenting gifts, and the celebrations concluded with the serving of traditional Indian snacks.
