The Embassy of India Antananarivo organized a Tourism Promotion Event in the Embassy premises on 28 February 2022.  

The event was attended the Director General, Ministry of Tourism of Madagascar and travel agents working in Antananarivo and local citizens. 
 
Ambassador of India to Madagascar Shri Abhay Kumar gave his opening remarks in the event and said: “Tourism has been one of the worst affected sectors of the economy due to COVID-19 pandemic in all the countries including India and Madagascar. As we are coming out of the challenges which the pandemic unleashed on us during the past two years, the Embassy of India in Madagascar is taking the initiative to promote tourism between India and Madagascar.”
Urging people from Madagascar to visit India, Ambassador said: “For promoting tourism India focuses on its traditional values of Atithi Devo Bhava_ – or Guest is God. With significant improvement in COVID-19 situation in India, the Government of India has decided to ease restrictions on visa for foreign tourists.” 

The event also saw the presentation from Air Mauritius that showcased how Air Mauritius plays a critical role in enhancing tourism between India and Madagascar.
