Independence Day Celebrated with Great Fervour in Madagascar

The 68^th Anniversary of India's Independence was celebrated with great fervour at the India House in Antananarivo on 15^th August, 2015.  The event was attended by over 200 persons representing a cross section of Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin, ITEC alumni and friends of India, along with their families.   The event was also attended by over half a dozen media personnel (print, audio and video).  HE Mr. Chandra Ballabh Thapliyal, Ambassador of India to Madagascar and Comoros read out the President of India’s message to the gathering which was followed by the speeches from the representatives of Indian diaspora associations in Madagascar. Thereafter, children gave dance performances on patriotic songs.  Those attending the event enjoyed Indian delicacies thereafter.

 Fête de l'Indépendance célébrée avec une grande ferveur à Madagascar

Le 68e Anniversaire de l'Indépendance de l'Inde a été célébré avec une grande ferveur à la Résidence de l'Inde à Antananarivo, le 15 Août 2015. L'événement a été honoré par la présence de  plus de 200 personnes représentant les ressortissants indiens, les personnes d'origine indienne, les boursiers ITEC et amis de l'Inde, ainsi que leurs familles. Une douzaine de membres de medias (presse écrite et audio-visuelle) a assuré la couverture médiatique de  cette fête de l’Indépendance de l’Inde. SEM. Chandra Ballabh Thapliyal, Ambassadeur de l'Inde à Madagascar et Comores a lu le message du Président Indien à cette occasion, suivi des discours des représentants des associations de la diaspora indienne à Madagascar. Des danses indiennes, poèmes et chansons patriotiques ont été également au rendez-vous. Les invités ont apprécié les snacks indiens, à la fin de la cérémonie.
