The 2nd Edition of International Day of Yoga celebrated in Madagascar with great fervor

The 2 nd Edition of the International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Antananarivo,Madagascar on Saturday, 18 June 2016 with great fervor at hotel Carlton, Antananarivofrom 900 am. in two segments. Due to the limited capacity of the hall, the morningsegment from 0900 to 1200 hrs. was reserved for the special invitees and the afternoonsegment from 1300 to 1700 hrs. was made open to the general public.

Three delegates from Sri Tathata Foundation, Kerala and one delegate ofBrahmakumaris University from France specially visited Madagascar to participate inthe 2 nd IDY celebrations. The local coordinators of Sri Tathata Foundation, Kerala,Brahmakumaris, Shri MatajiNirmala Devi, Patanjali Yoga, Heartfullness of SRM, HolisticHealing Centre and Kudalini Yoga had set up their stalls on the occasion.The Govt. of Madagascar nominated the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry ofForeign Affairs as the Chief Guest. Among the noted dignitaries attending the functionwere Former Prime Minister Roger Kolo, two former Foreign Ministers, Vice President ofSenate, a number of senior officers in the Government and members of the Diplomaticcorps. Prior to the main event, two Press Conferences on 15 and 17 June, 2016 and aCurtain Raiser event on 17 June was organized which created enthusiasm in thepeople. The event received wide coverage in the audio, visual and print media.
